AirDrop 09/11/20: Do It Yourself Favorites from Around the Bay!

This week’s AirDrop is about DIY projects and some of my favorite places around the Bay for various projects.

Now is as good a time as any to get caught up on some projects around the home and garden. Some of my best go-to’s are various hardware stores around the area. Below are some of the ones I suggest for helping you paint, decorate, or complete regular maintenance.

Even though this week has been a little trying and air quality has been challenging – make sure you go to a safe place, take a break before you start the DIY and remember to meditate with a breath or two.

Stellar customer service and an amazing selection. One of my favorite hardware stores in the area, although no matter which store I’ve popped into throughout the Bay Area, I’ve always gotten great service. Open as an essential business and your go-to for grout. Rahul – did you get what you needed?!

Living Green Design | 1485 Custer Ave.

San Francisco

Whether you are planning some landscaping to do yourself, or considering putting some special plants indoors, or just want some genius creative artists to ensure the whole project is completed stem to stern, Living Green Design is my favorite place in San Francisco for all three.

Hassett Hardware | 545 First Ave.

San Mateo

Family owned and operated and a great part of their community. Go there for staples like knife sharpening and carpet-cleaners for rent or for more heavy duty STIHL products.

Bonus: they have stores throughout the Peninsula!

Harbor Freight Tools | 5241 Stevens Creek Blvd. | Santa Clara

A great alternative to Home Depot and Lowe’s. This location’s staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Sometimes the line will look long, but they do a good job of moving it fast. The store can also help with items for science projects for school in addition to the DIY around the home and yard.
